....Handmade Flowers...

Hey Everyone,

How is your Friday going? and I am sure you are all set for the weekend. Another Friday, another PCC challenge..yeahh!! This week you need to create a Card, LO or a craft project using only Red, Black and White. You can go by any theme that you like. Simple and fun.. right?? :)

So, going by the theme, I created a card set with some handmade flowers.
I made these flowers by following this wonderful tutorial here. {But, with a little twist :D}. I have not used any distress inks or glimmer mists; instead I used acrylic paints to color the flowers. I got plenty of them with me of almost in every color. So I used Cardinal Red with a dash of Metallic Pearl White, mix them for different colors and for some added glimmer. Dab my cut out flowers with colors, shape them, dry them, sponge some distress ink to the edges and viola!! they turned out pretty lovely :).

Here is my set of card created with these flowers:
 With some swirl stamping and add of rhinestones, they are made to suit every occasion.
PS - I have not cut out the petals for red color flower and shaped them as a whole circle. For the pink one, petals are cut and folded to give some different shape. I added pink color pearls (from my stash) for the center of the flower and stickle some sparkles on it.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Paper Sundaes - challenge#38 'something from your stash' {I used almost everything from my stash - papers, blings, colors, center pearls}
Stamptacular Sunday - challeneg#79 'layer it on' - use atleast 5 layers {all my flowers have 5 layers}
Pollycraft - challenge#64 'anything goes'
A Spoonfull of Sugar - challenge#124 'sparkle and shine'
Creative Card Crew - 'blooming marvelous'
Your Next Stamp - challenge#26 'make your own flowers'
Penny's Paper Crafty - challenge#39 'cirles' {I used circular flowers}
If the Shoe Fits - FF#50 'distress'
SSDS - 'anything goes'

Recipe for this card:
Paper - white textured CS from Colorbok, simple craft sheets in ivory for flowers
Stamp - Stampology - Mindy's Flowers.
Ink - Coal from Martha Stewart

Have a lovely weekend and don't forget to enter into a challenge at PCC.

Warm Fuzzies - PCC#61

TGIF Lovelies,

Have you already made plans for the weekend?? Good, cos I am still tangling with mine..lolzz. Friday means Paper Cutz Challenge. This week the challenge is to make a card, LO or craft project using 3 patterned papers. You can use any colors or themes. So fun, right?

The colors are changing everywhere.... from greens to warm and earthy. Fall is setting-in in CT along with rains and storms. I am worried if this rain continues for two more days, it will blow off all the leaves from trees before the peak of Fall :(. Though it will be my third winter here in US, but I really like the festivities...the colors... the aroma of cinnamons... the pumpkins... etc etc. With all these season's warmth, I tried to capture fall with this card:
 A closer look on leaves:
I took a textured CS in orange and sponged the front with acrylic colors in red, olive green, orange and bronze. Ohh!! I liked how it turns out ;). Cut out a circle in between and distress it a little bit. These leaves are hand drawn (as currently I don't have any fall leaf stamps) and cut out off patterned papers, stick them to the card with pop dots. I got this paper pad from S.E.I called "NutMeg" from Michaels in a deal. and it got some amazing papers. just love them. All three of the PPs I used are from this bunch only :).
The sketch is from CPS # 186.

This card is also going in these challenges:
Crafty Little Place - challenge#58 'autumn daze'
Tuesday Taggers - 'here comes autumn'
Craftalicious - challenge#9 'harvest or autumn'
Digi Doodles Shops Best - challenge#27 '3D'
Really Reasonable Ribbons - challenge#9 'fall theme' {I used braided string for ribon}
Color Throwdown - challenge#112
Alice in Wonderland - chapter#32 'card with window or hole'
Penny's Challenge - challenge#39 'circles'
All Sorts - challenge#71 'plain & simple'
Color Cue - challenge#8 'color inspiration'

Recipe for this card:
Paper - CS in orange from ColorBok, PP from S.E.I
Stamp - sentiment from hero arts
Others - acrylic colors, braided string, charm

This is it form me. Have a wonderful weekend :)
xoxo
